Last Friday night from the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California, Mauricio Herrera and Jesus Soto-Karass battled over ten entertaining rounds.

It was a fight that was competitive throughout and heated up in the late stages. A late rally by Soto-Karass just fell short as he lost by the scores of 95-95 and 96-94 on two cards.

So what's next for this pair?

Robert Diaz, the matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, said to BoxingScene.com - "I'm still receiving comments, I'm still seeing comments on social media these guys gave it 100-percent. I'm very happy with them, I'm very happy that they both came away not hurt, no major injuries, especially after a fight like that. I've read a lot and people are saying, 'We gotta see the rematch, we gotta see the rematch, we gotta see the rematch.' I think they could fight three or four times, it's always going to be close and honestly - I don't want to see it again.

"I think one time is enough, it's good, it's great," continued Diaz, who believes that they should move in separate directions at this stage of their careers.

"A draw I would've had no issues, I don't think nobody lost. I saw Jesus yesterday, believe it or not he was running already. He came in and it doesn't even look like he fought. Mauricio, I know had a family gathering, enjoying his family and his time off."

For Soto-Karass (28-12-4, 18 KO's), this was his fourth loss in fifth five but his strongest outing in recent years.

"I'd like to see Jesus fight and I'm working on a fight in Arizona, for him to be the main event and we picked Arizona in November because Los Mochis is very close to Phoenix and Phoenix being close to Tucson," explained Diaz. "Maybe as his farewell, maybe as a  big event for Jesus Soto-Karass, get the love, support from the people. I'm looking at a couple options with his team as far as an opponent."

As for Herrera (24-7, 7 KO's) who came out with hard-earned victory, Diaz stated - "going into the fight we had told both of them, 'Look, this is a tough fight, it's a crossroads fight.' It could've been the end of both and if the winner comes out with too many punches I was going to tell the winner, 'Hey, that's it.' But what I saw was they still have that level as long as they are pumped up and they take it to that level. So I'd like to see Mauricio in a bigger fight, maybe before the end of the year."
