Earlier, BoxingScene.com ran a report where the father/trainer of super bantamweight contender Cesar Seda (26-2, 17 KO's) explained their contractual split with Golden Boy Promotions.

According to Cesar Seda Sr., they requested a release based on a "breach of contract" and have now signed a three year agreement with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

"The relationship with Golden Boy was terminated. We requested a release for breach of contract and reached a mutual agreement to [part ways]. We began discussions with Haymon and by end of December we signed contract. And we have a tentative date to fight on March 7. The deal is for three years," Seda Sr. said.

Not so fast, explained Golden Boy Promotions VP Eric Gomez.

Gomez informed BoxingScene that his company voluntarily released Seda, because the boxer and his handlers had refused multiple fight offers.

"We released Seda from his contract. They didn't want to fight anyone. He turned down three or four fights. The last one [he turned down] was a fight with Ivan Morales. He didn't want to travel to Mexico to fight Morales. We want to make exciting fights. We are not in the business of making easy fights," Gomez told BoxingScene.com.

When Seda first came to Golden Boy, he wanted a title shot. Golden Boy granted his request by securing him that shot in December of 2013, against WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz on the Broner-Maidana undercard at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Santa Cruz had few issues in winning a twelve round unanimous decision. Seda returned six months later, winning a ten round decision over Alex Rangel in Puerto Rico - and he's been inactive since.
