Bucharest, Romania – Gankor Promotions, Inc. will present a night of World Championship Boxing at the 7,000 seat Sala Polivalents Arena in Bucharest, Romania on Saturday April 19th.  The main event is the WBC Interim Light Heavyweight Championship between # 1 contender Adrian “The Shark” Diaconu and # 3 contender Chris “Hard Hitting” Henry.

Diaconu, 24-0, 15 KO’s, is a native of Ploiesti, Romania and is now fighting out of Montreal, Canada. He is the mandatory challenger to current WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson. He was scheduled to fight Dawson last September 29th but a training injury forced him to pull out just 10 days prior to the event. Diaconu earned the WBC No. 1 ranking and became the mandatory challenger to Dawson with a sensational third – round TKO over respected Rico Hoye in an elimination bout staged in Montreal on May 9th seen on ESPN.

Chris “Hard Hittin” Henry, 21-0, 17 KO’s, has been on a fast-track to the championship himself. He has proven himself with many exciting knockouts as he has stepped up the ladder of better quality competition. Henry has claimed national stature as an amateur as he won the Under 19 Championship in 1998 and was a National Golden Gloves Finalist in 2005, losing only to Chazz Witherspoon. He was an all- around athlete and starred in football while in high school in Beaumont, TX before finally settling on boxing, when he immediately became highly recruited by major promoters.

Henry is the NABF Light Heavyweight Champion and trained by the prominent Ronnie Shields.
