LAS VEGAS – Terrell Gausha won his second straight fight Saturday night since his loss to Tim Tszyu.

The 2012 U.S. Olympian out-pointed KeAndrae Leatherwood by majority decision in their eight-round super middleweight match on the Canelo Alvarez-Jermell Charlo undercard at T-Mobile Arena. Judges Chris Flores scored their fight a draw (76-76), but judges Tim Cheatham (78-74) and John McKaie (78-74) scored six rounds apiece for Gausha.

Cleveland’s Gausha improved to 24-3-1 (12 KOs). Leatherwood (23-9-1, 13 KOs), of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is 2-4 in his past six fights.

Gausha defended himself well during the second half of their bout, but Leatherwood didn’t let his hands go enough to make Gausha take more chances. There wasn’t much action in any of the last three rounds.

Gausha broke free from Leatherwood’s grasp and landed a left hook with just under 30 seconds on the clock in the fifth round.

A short right by Gausha caused Leatherwood to hold him a little less than a minute into the third round. Another right by Gausha landed flush and caused Leatherwood to tie him up again several seconds later.

After an uneventful opening round, a left hook by Leatherwood knocked Gausha off balance with just under 30 seconds on the clock in the second round.
