The two division world champion (105 and 108 pounds) of the WBA, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, saw action last Saturday at Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Quintana Roo, against Mexico's Omar Salado, and knocked his opponent out without any problems. Gonzalez's manager, Silvio Conrado Jr., met with a representative of Teiken Promotions to finalize his boxer's position on the big card which is being planned for October 1 in Las Vegas. In the main event Rafael Marquez will challenge Toshiaki Nishioka, the WBC champion at super bantamweight.

Gonzalez could face IBF junior flyweight champion Ulises "Archie" Solis of Mexico or former champion Ivan Calderon of Puerto Rico.

"The fact is, now we can confirm that  Chocolatito will fight in Las Vegas in October, possibly against Ulises "Archie" Solis, who won the IBF 108 pounds, or Ivan Calderon, who made a name for himself in the United States," said Silvio.

The card will be a co-promotion by Teiken, Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions - and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is being reported as the likely venue.
