Ponce quickly came out throwing a lot of power shots and pouncing on Matias. He was unloading with a number of heavy blows on Matias to the head and body. Matias was covering up a lot of doing his best to counter. The second saw Ponce unloading on the inside. Matias was fighting back, but Ponce would not stop throwing heavy punches. Matias was starting to connect more often as they were trading away with a lot of leather. He seemed to stun Ponce in the closing seconds.

In the third, they went back to the inside, trading heavy punches. It was all out war in the final minute. The fourth began was more warfare. Matias was now pressing more often, but Ponce was happy to engage. Matias landed a big left hook that Ponce took in the closing moments.

During the fifth, Ponce was digging hard to the body and pressing forward. It was grueling action, with both boxers landing a lot of punches. Matias was connecting with plenty the hard shots. A series of hard punches sent Ponce down in the closing moments.

Before the start of the sixth, Ponce's corner waved off the fight and Matias was declared the winner by TKO.
