With Top Rank setting them up, Omar Henry keeps on knocking them down.  In Grand Prairie, TX, last night, he had another junior middleweight set before him, there was another deer in the headlights stare, and another 1st round knockout victory for the Texas rising star.

“This one was without a doubt my best knockout so far,” O.Henry analyzed the bout.  “As soon as the bell rang I pressured him.  We got all the way back into his corner, like always happens, and I hit him hard, real hard, a left hook the body, and he was just frozen.  I heard him go ‘aahhh’ and the wind went out of him.  Then he was there just frozen like a deer in the headlights look on him.  I landed a combination and his mouthpiece flew out into the crowd with a right hand.”

“After that it was pretty much over,” said the 22 year old Houstonian.  “I thought this guy would go awhile longer than that.”

A rising prospects job is to faceoff with the guys that his promoter selects, and to take them out.  Omar Henry is showing that he knows the drill well, having dispatched every single foe he’s had lined up in front of him by 1st round knockout.

Under the tutelage of the training team at Savannah’s boxing gym, Henry gets expert instruction, excellent exposure to current and past world champions and title challengers, and premier sparring.  Guided by promoter Top Rank and managed by Cameron Dunkin, he has a 1st class team to take him to the world title.
