WBC Diamond middleweight champion Sergio Martinez has placed a challenge on the table for WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto. During a recent interview, Cotto said Martinez didn't bring enough money to table, and that's one of the main reasons for the Puerto Rican boxer's decision to move forward with a December 3rd rematch with Antonio Margarito. Martinez, who defends his title against Darren Barker on Saturday night, is willing to stake his purse against Cotto.

"Cotto is always making excuses. I've always said that I want to face him. I'm interested in that fight. Now he says he won't accept [the fight] because I don't bring enough money [to the table]. So I suggest one thing - if the problem is money, I'll challenge him at 154-pounds - and if I win I will give him my money. If he beats me, I will give him my purse. We can fight where he wants and when he wants. I do not care [about money], I want the glory," Martinez told BoxingScene.com/NotiFight.com.
