Former WBO super featherweight champion Jorge Rodrigo "The Hyena" Barrios is mentally ready to return to boxing after the tragic traffic accident that he was involved in, in January, which killed a young pregnant woman.

"Recovering from what happened takes time, but I've been training and I look to get back in the ring. I feel great, I'm at my best," Barrios said while speaking with channel Todo Noticias.

Barrios will face Colombian Humberto Martinez on Friday October 1 at the Club de Regatas Corrientes, with the intention of preparing for another possible world title fight in the United States in 2011. He wants to put on an exciting show for the fans.

When asked by the repercussions of the tragedy that happened on January 24, as far his social life - the boxer said that people "treated him well" because they know that it was "an accident" and ended up raising his voice to ask the interviewers to change the subject.

"To me, people on the street treat me well because they knows it was an accident that I will regret for the rest of my life. I have nothing more to explain to you, in any case, talk to the girl's family," snapped Barrios. "I just crashed a car. But if you want to talk about it, call my attorney, I attended today to discuss the fight."
