Next Monday, WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion heavyweight Jean Pascal (26-1-1,16 KO) and Emeritus champion Bernard Hopkins (51-5-2, 32KB) of Philadelphia, will meet face to face to at a scheduled press conference to officially announce their May 21st rematch, which takes place at the Bell Centre. Pascal, Hopkins, President Yvon Michel of GYM and CEO Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions will be present.

GYM has confirmed that all of the existing issues have been resolved and an agreement was signed with Gary Shaw Promotions and InterBox - to ensure the addition of a very important light heavyweight crossroads bout between former champions Adrian Diaconu (27-2-0, 15KO) and Chad Dawson (29-1-0, 17ko). GYM's owner Yvon Michel says the negotiations for Dawson-Diaconu have been concluded and confirmed their confrontation, which is scheduled for twelve rounds.

Yvon Michel: - "The Chad Dawson-Adrian Diaconu fight as a co-feature to the May 21 Jean Pascal-Bernard Hopkins rematch is confirmed for Montreal. Diaconu has signed the agreement this morning. Finally. It was more of a misunderstanding than anything else. Diaconu met with his promoter, Jean Bedard, this morning, and he signed the contract and the agreement and I received a call from Jean Bedard and a copy of the contract right after. Everything is fine."

"I'm very happy, because these two fights together on that show, I believe to be the most important and the most prestigious boxing event ever in Canada. You're talking about four light heavyweights who are among the top five best light heavyweights in the world. And they're all on the same show."

"We have a former world champion in Chad Dawson, a future Hall of Famer in Bernard Hopkins. And Jean Pascal is still a rising star in boxing. The three of them are in a lot of top 10, pound-for-pound rankings. They consider Bernard Hopkins and Jean Pascal among the top 10, certainly, and, Chad Dawson is not too far outside of it, if not, he's among them. To have all of them on the same show, that's just terrific."
