Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (42-0-1, 30KOs) has received the news that his fight for the middleweight championship of the WBC, against German beltholder Sebastian Zbik, will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on the 4th of June.

Chávez, the first the first ranked challenger under the WBC, is aiming for his first world title in the city that his father considered a second home and where the 25-year-old boxer has gradually gained supporters.

"When they told me (that the fight would be at Staples Center) I was very happy and excited, because this is my first opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a world champion and to fight in a place like this is impressive," established Chavez.

"Fighting in Los Angeles, where fans always supported my dad and where I have always been supported will be a plus, because that night I will have the opportunity to be crowned before a lot of Mexicans."

Later this week, Chavez will move his training camp from Culiacan, Mexico to the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, under the gaze of American trainer Freddie Roach, who is also training Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao for their upcoming fights.
