(West Palm Beach Florida)--In response to various media reports concerning the contractual arrangement between Bobby Bostick Promotions and Kermit Cintron, Bobby Bostick Promotions is issuing this press release in order to correct the numerous inaccuracies, allegations and innuendo that exist in current media reports.

In response to statements made two weeks ago by Emanuel Steward and Kermit Cintron, Bobby Bostick, President of Bobby Bostick Promotions, stated:  “First of all, it is very unfortunate that Mr. Cintron and Mr. Steward decided to publicly air their thoughts about the Golden Boy press release without contacting Bobby Bostick Promotions.  Their actions are unprofessional, and it is improper to discuss matters with Mr. Leon that are confidential.  It is even more unfortunate is that in so doing Mr. Cintron and Mr. Steward, who I do not believe is Mr. Cintron’s manager contrary to what is reported in the article, are either unaware of important, basic facts or failed to disclose such facts to further whatever purpose they believed was served by conducting the interview in the first place.”

Mr. Bostick went on to state:  “Let me clear the record.  Early last week Golden Boy sent us a “draft” press release in anticipation of signing a contract for a fight between Kermit Cintron and Shane Mosley.  I informed Golden Boy that I would review the release and provide any comments that I had, but before I reviewed and approved the release, Golden Boy released it.  I believe that any quotes attributable to Kermit Cintron were provided by Golden Boy.  BBP never gave any Kermit Cintron quotes to Golden Boy”.

On the issue of Kermit Cintron’s contractual status with Bobby Bostick Promotions, Mr. Bostick stated:  “Although, as with most contracts, the details of the contract are subject to confidentiality by both parties and their associates, BBP has a valid, binding contract with Kermit Cintron and has paid Mr. Cintron all amounts he agreed to receive in exchange for a title bout with Mark Suarez.  BBP will aggressively move to protect and enforce this agreement.  In addition, any and all third parties who attempt to interfere with this contract will be pursued with all available legal remedies.  BBP made a very strong financial offer to Mr. Cintron to participate in a fight with Shane Mosley.   Again, it is unfortunate that Mr. Cintron and Mr. Steward decided to spend their time talking with Mr. Leon rather than talking to BBP about finalizing a bout agreement and other issues Mr. Cintron apparently has with his prior promoter.  We hope that dialogue will continue to try to resolve any issues Mr. Cintron has; however, I can assure you that it will be resolved one way or another.”
