Dominican contender Javier Fortuna (28-0-1, 20KOs) capture the vacant WBA 'regular' super featherweight title on Friday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. He won a twelve round unanimous decision over Bryan Vasquez.

Fortuna says he is ready for the best and threw out a few public challenges in the aftermath of his win, including a challenge thrown in the direction of Olympic gold medal winner Yuriorkis Gamboa (24-1, 17KOs) of Cuba.

Gamboa was knocked out in nine rounds last June when he faced WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford in one of the more exciting fights of 2014. Gamboa came back in November, traveling to Mexico to knock out Joel Montes de Oca in six rounds.

Gamboa, who said he was going to return to the super featherweight division to capture another world title, says he is more than happy to accept the challenge of Fortuna.

The Cuban boxer is being promoted by 50 Cent's SMS Promotions, which recently filed for bankruptcy, so his promotional status is up in the air.
