Junior featherweight contender Yenifel Vicente made quick work of Victor Proa, knocking him out late Wednesday night at the Centro de Convenciones Vasco Nunez de Balboa in Panama City, Panama.

Vicente knocked down Proa with a combination to the head. Proa, who resides in Monterrey, Mexico, was counted out by referee Chris Flores at 1:22.

With the win, Vicente improves to 34-3-2, 26 knockouts and has won his last nine bouts, all by knockout.

Promoter Lou DiBella was been impressed with Vicente's string of recent wins. The 32-year-old Vicente is now ranked number 11 by the WBO and DiBella will continue to have him stay busy with the hopes of landing a fight with WBO titleholder Isaac Dogboe late in 2019.

"Yenifel Vicente is one of the hardest punching 122-pounders in the world," DiBella stated in a text message to BoxingScene.com early Thursday morning. "His knockouts are highlight-reel stuff and he's a danger to anyone at his weight. He wants to fight the best, and we will keep him on track toward a shot at Isaac Dogboe."

Vicente is originally from the Dominican Republic and currently resides in Miami, Florida.

Proa falls to 29-6-2, 22 KOs and has now lost five of his last six bouts.
