Ohara Davies has been left in limbo regarding his next fight.

The Hackney lightweight, whose nickname is ‘Two Tanks’, is the English champion at the weight and was set to come up against Willie Limond next month, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

Davies (12-0, 10 KOs) was expected to vie for a title, which was to be confirmed, against the Scottish ex-Commonwealth champion and British super-lightweight title challenger, as part of the supporting cast to Ricky Burns’ mandatory defence of the WBA super-lightweight world title against Kiryl Relikh on October 7 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

But Boxing Scene has been informed that the fight is now off the cards after former Erik Morales foe Limond (39-5, 11 KOs) withdrew, with sources telling us that the 37-year-old knew nothing about the fight –– which was formally announced by promoters Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport on September 2 –– against Davies.

The news of Limond’s withdrawal has been confirmed by the 24-year-old via social media, but there has been no further information since then.

“I’m so angry,” Davies wrote on his verified Twitter account. “Another [opponent] pulls out [and it] seems to be a recurring phrase from my team who work hard to get me these fights.

“My new name [should be] ‘Mr Avoided’."

It is understood that Davies will remain on the Burns-Relikh bill but will box over eight rounds should a suitable opponent not be found for a title fight.
