WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder still has no idea who he will face on Sept. 26.

But Wilder (34-0, 33 knockouts) is sure of who he will not face on that date. And that's none other than Brooklyn’s Shannon Briggs, who is the last American to hold a heavyweight title in 2006 before Wilder won the belt in January of this year.

It's clear that Wilder not only dislikes Briggs personally but he also doesn't take his boxing career seriously at this point.

“Not Briggs. Briggs is a waste of time,” said Wilder, who attended Saturday’s ESPN card headlined by Danny Garcia and Paulie Malignaggi at Barclays Center. “For what? We’re trying to get everyone in the top who’s climbing. If Briggs wants a shot, he knows what he has to do. He has to climb (the rankings). Talking and stalking people and being on little small boats, running people over with water, messing with them while they’re eating, hollering that crazy chant- that’s not going to get him any fights.”

Briggs seems to have taken a rest from following Wladimir Klitschko to now stalking Wilder.

In the past, Briggs has hounded Klitschko at a restaurant and even gone after him at sea while Klitschko was on a paddle board.

Back in April, Wilder and Briggs nearly came to blows at a press conference for Klitschko and Bryant Jennings.

“He just does that for the cameras,” Wilder said. “And if that feeds the camera then that’s good for him. But as far as a fighting point of view, if that fight does happen and he does get into the ring with me, I promise I’m going to retire him.”
