World Boxing Organization (WBO) president Francisco "Paco" Valcárcel reacted today to the alleged vacancy of the World Boxing Council (WBC) 154 pounds Manny Pacquiao's title.

“Unfortunately, we have to clarify that the WBC words about the remove of Pacquiao's title are not true, because Pacquiao said after he won the 154 pounds title, that he will not fight in the junior middleweight division and came back to 147 pounds", Valcárcel said. “Pacquiao remains as the WBO welter champion and is going to defend his title next May 7 against Shane Mosley in Las Vegas. Pacquiao's figure deserves more respect”.

Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) won the WBC 154 pounds title when he beat Antonio Margarito last November 2010. Pacquiao is now the WBO welterweight champion.

“I want to said that the WBC should be more careful because with this words of the alleged remove and vacancy of the Pacquiao's title is hard to their credibility. They did the same thing with Timothy Bradley, our 140 pounds champion, when Bradley sent a letter to tell them that he didn't want to fight for the WBC title", Valcarcel said.
