According to WBC President Jose Sulaiman, a decision on what is going to happen with the WBC super middleweight title could be only a week or so away.

Joe Calzaghe is the current world super middleweight champion but he moved up to light heavyweight in April and decisioned Bernard Hopkins for the world light heavyweight championship.

President Sulaiman told me that he is expecting to hear from Frank Warren, Calzaghe’s promoter, next week regarding his fighter’s intentions towards the super middleweight titles.

Should Calzaghe stay at light heavyweight, it is expected that undefeated Brit Carl Froch would be offered a shot at the vacant title against the next available contender in the WBC rankings.
