The vice president of the World Boxing Association, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, is being treated at a hospital in Panama City, after suffering a "mild heart attack," according to Dr. Themistocles Diaz, who work in the Punta Pacifica Hospital, where Mendoza is being treated.

He will receive a medical discharge on Monday, but must wait eight weeks to return to his regular work routine.

"I thank God that I'm alive, and thank my family for their support, and the boxing community in general for letting me be part of them," Mendoza said.
