The World Boxing Association set a Guinness record by endorsing seven titles fights involving women, four world titles and three regional, to take place on Saturday as part of card called "Battle of Champions" - a scenario which has never happened in the boxing history.

"It's the first time where we 've seen so many champions together in one boxing event and therefore the Guinness World Records family is very happy to be here to endorse what is happening," said Ralph Hannah, Senior Manager of Guinness World Records.

"We are grateful to The World Boxing Association who have supported us in various record attempts, because obviously we celebrate excellence and achievements and the WBA is an organization that does the same: looking for the best in the world and we share those values."

Meanwhile, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, president of the longest running sanctioning body, said: "It is very important for me that this is happening, because we are showing the boxing world, because we are fighting for the rights of a woman in a sport that so many characterize as sexist. So it is a pride for me and for the WBA to set this Guinness record."

Among those seven contests, there will be four world titles that will be in play, all corresponding to the World Boxing Association (WBA). Peruvian Linda Laura Lecca (12-2-1, 3 KO) will give a rematch to Caracas Carolina Alvarez (12-6-3, 9KO). Argentina's Yesica Bopp (28-1-0, 12 KO) will defend her flyweight belt against Mexican Nancy Franco (02.08.15, 4KO).

Meanwhile, Costa Rica's Hanna Gabriel (15-1-1, 10KO) will go for the vacant junior middleweight against Uruguayan Katia Alvariño (8-2-1, 3KO) and finally, and also bantamweight champion Mayerlin Rivas ( 13-3-1, 9KO) will go against unbeaten Spanish Melania Sorroche (11-0-1, 2KO).
