The "regular" world featherweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Nicholas Walters (23-0, 19KOs), is training hard for his second title defense, which is going to be held in Macau, China, on May 31.

Celso Chavez, the coach of Walters, said his fighter will travel over on the 21st to Asia, where he will face former world champion Vic Darchinyan (39-6-1, 28KOs). Walters will be accompanied by Chavez and his father.

"He's working hard, at a good pace," said Chavez, who reported that yesterday the Caribbean boxer went through 10 tough rounds of sparring.

"In sparring we are helped by amateur boxer Orlando Mosquera and professional Manuel Largacha and a Nicaraguan boxer who was brought in especially to help Walters."

Walters, 28-years-old, won the WBA world featherweight championship on December 8th of 2012, by knocking out Colombian Daulis Prescott in the seventh round.
