The Theater, Madison Square Garden, New York City - Victor Salazar catches up with HBO's unofficial scorekeeper - Harold Lederman, to get his thoughts on HBO's doubleheader on Saturday night.

In the main event of the card, unbeaten featherweights collided, and Nicholas Walters (26-0, 21KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Miguel Marriaga (20-1, 18KOs). Because Walters was overweight on Friday, the title became vacant and it was only on the line for Marriaga. Because Marriaga lost, the belt will remain vacant. The scores were 118-109, 117-110 and 119-108.

Walters avenges a loss that he suffered to Marriaga in the amateurs.

It was a jabbing match in the first round with both fighters being cautious. Walters was comtrolling the action with his jab in the early going, but Marriaga was quickly finding a home for his big right hand. Walters was digging hard to the body, especially with his left hand.

Walters was busier, landing the better punches, and walking through just about everything Marriaga was landing. Walters was dedicating a lot of his punches to the body. Walters started going in for the kill in the ninth round, throwing some big punches and landing some of them. He was bullying Marriaga around the ring and walking him down. Marriaga went down at the of the ninth, but appeared to be fine.

Marriaga started to get a little more active in the tenth, but he was still being outworked and outboxed. Marriaga tried his best in the two remaining rounds with Walters pushing past him with activity and harder shots.
