Russia's first world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev, has advised the current WBC beltholder, Vitali Klitschko, to reject the challenge of British star David Haye. Three years ago Valuev lost a twelve round decision to Haye. The Russian boxer suffered from a variety of injuries and never fought again. During his layoff, there were several negotations to make a fight with Vitali, but all of them fell apart due to financial reasons.

"If I was in the position of Vitali, I would not agree to a fight with Haye," Valuev said.

Valuev admits the match would make a lot of money for Vitali, but the viewing public will not get a fight packed with action. Instead, they will get a bout similar to Wladimir Klitschko's dominating, and action lacking, twelve round decision over Haye.

Vitali has yet to make a decision regarding his career. He expects to do so in the coming weeks. If Vitali decides to retire, he will pursue a full-time career in politics.
