At one point, it seemed as though Tevin Farmer was fighting once a week. Ok, that’s a bit hyperbolic but the former IBF super featherweight titlist was an active champion. During one particular stretch, from August 2018 to July 2019, Farmer fought a total of five times.

Since then, however, Farmer’s career stalled. Following his close but clear defeat at the hands of Joseph Diaz in 2020, Farmer was out of sight and out of mind for the next three years.

Now, the 33-year-old is attempting to work his way back into the mix. This past June, Farmer (31-5-1, 6 KOs) wiped off the ring rust by picking up a win against longtime journeyman, Avery Sparrow. With the first part of his comeback complete, the Philly native is eyeing another return and one final championship run.

“I’m coming back in September,” Farmer told AB Boxing News. “By early next year, I should be getting a title shot.”

An opponent hasn’t been selected as of yet, but Farmer does have a September 29th return date penciled in.

Getting back to his active ways may prove to be beneficial to Farmer as he continues to sift through the top names at 130 pounds. Presently, the likes of Emanuel Navarrete, Hector Luis Garcia, O’Shaquie Foster, and England’s Joe Cordina are all in possession of a world title.

Farmer, nevertheless, isn’t concerned about the road he’ll have to take in order to grab another golden trinket. In the end, becoming a two-time world champion is salient but this time around, Farmer will have his fingers crossed that he’ll be allowed to face every belt holder on his way to undisputed status.

“It’s time for me to make a mark again. I want to become a world champion again. Hopefully this time, I get to unify the division or be undisputed.”
