According to promoter Frank Warren, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury views Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce as the biggest up and coming threat in the weight class.

Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs), 36-years-old, has been fast-tracked due to his age and late start in the pro ranks.

Last year he picked up a signature win with a stopped of unbeaten Daniel Dubois.

Joyce was back in action in July and stopped veteran Carlos Takam in six rounds.

During his 13 fight run, Joyce has displayed a lot of power, a granite chin and a solid engine.

He does lack speed, but no opponent has been able to capitalize on that factor as of yet.

"I was talking to Tyson about him," Warren told Sky Sports. "Tyson said that he's the best one out there. That's what Tyson's opinion was. Can he go all the way? Yes he can. He's got a good ticker, a big heart. He's strong, he walks forwards, he is the 'Juggernaut.'"

"Whoever he's in there with, you know they will have a problem getting rid of him. He's a tough guy. He can fight a bit. He can punch."

At the moment Joyce is top challenger under the WBO.

But he needs to wait at least a year before getting that title crack, because the WBO's mandatory obligation was satisfied last month when Oleksandr Usyk outboxed Anthony Joshua to win the WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO world titles.

Joshua has since exercised an immediate rematch clause, with the second fight against Usyk to take place in the first quarter of 2022.

Joyce will continue to stay busy, with Warren attempting to get him a name opponent like the winner of the upcoming Derek Chisora vs. Joseph Parker rematch.
