Falls Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom - In a crossroads junior welterweight clash for a WBO regional title, Tyrone McKenna (22-2-1, 6 KOs) overcame a knockdown to pull out a very tough ten round unanimous decision over Jose Felix (39-5-1, 30 KOs).

The scores were 97-91, 97-92 and 99-91.

The fight started at a busy pace, with both boxers throwing heavy punches at close range. Felix suffered an early knockdown, which upon video replay was an obvious slip from McKenna cuffing him.

Felix got revenge in the third, when he hurt and dropped McKenna with a good hook to the body. At that point, the contest became a slugfest with both boxers choosing to trade a lot of power shots.

McKenna had control in the second half, as he pushed forward with heavy punches to stun Felix in the seventh round. Felix was able to recover and continued to wing away with punches. A cut opened up around McKenna's right eye in the eight round, while the right eye of Felix was starting to swell up and was close to being shut by the end of the fight.

In the tenth and final round, McKenna continued to come forward and was forcing non-stop exchanges. Felix was getting caught with the better punches, but he never stopped firing back until the final bell.
