Cornwall boxer Tony Luis (29-5, 10 KOs) and Alberta's Steve Claggett (31-7-2, 21 KOs) will finally fight the war that local boxing fans have been asking for. The two Canadians will face off on August 6th at the Civic Complex in Cornwall in a boxing card presented by Liveco Boxing and broadcast on Punching Grace at 8:00 pm.

Few events are as exciting as a fight where two boxers are at a crossroads. This confrontation can open doors for the winner while it can have the opposite effect for the loser.

Luis' last fight was in March when he fought in the ring at Madison Square Garden. It was a return to action following a 19-month layoff. He lost a unanimous decision to John Bauza.

This bout with Claggett will be his 35th career fight, and he is determined to get back to winning after dropping his last two.

"In my last fight against Bauza, I wanted to show what I can still do," said Luis. "I think I, and the fans, deserved a much better result. But the way my style matches Claggett's, I don't see any losers here. And the biggest winners will be the fans.

"Claggett and I have had similar journeys - beating the odds, making our way as warriors and competing at the highest level without looking back. We always knew this day would come, but we didn't know when. Now we know."

For his part, Claggett, has been more active in the last few months. He picked up two wins by knockout. His confidence is therefore at its peak, and he has a strong desire to get back in the ring to secure a third consecutive win and continue his momentum.

"This is a great fight for Canadian boxing. It's an explosive matchup, with two experienced warriors with blood and guts and two fighters who put it all on the line every time.  August 6th is going to be a fireworks display," said Claggett.

"Now we will see who has worked the hardest, who has put in the most effort and who will come out on top when the bell rings. This fight has been building for a long time and there will be no turning back. Let's see who wants it more."
