American heavyweight contender Tony Grano (20-2-1, 16 KOs) has revealed that his team has been trying to secure a bout with former light heavyweght and cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KOs) of Poland. The bout between the two could take place at the end of May, most likely in the United States.

“Just moved to Florida, training hard. Working on getting a fight with Tomasz Adamek for the end of May,” Grano stated.

32-year old Grano, who is ranked #6 by WBC, last time fought in June of 2012, knocking out an aged American DaVarryl Williamson. Adamek’s last ring appearance took place in December, when he won by controversial split decision over Steve Cunningham. A few weeks ago the New Jersey-based Pole decided to withdraw from a final IBF heavyweight eliminator bout with Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KOs) explaining that he had an opportunity to secure a much more profitable fight in his domestic Poland. However, it seems that plan misfired.
