Terence Crawford is stuck in a holding pattern trying to determine the next steps of his Hall of Fame-bound career.

The Nebraska native Crawford is coming off a crushing KO victory against Errol Spence Jr. in July that made him the undisputed welterweight champion.

The bout had a rematch clause that has since been activated, but it remains to be seen when the event will be staged. With Showtime Sports leaving boxing at the end of the year, Premier Boxing Champions will have to find a new broadcast or streaming partner to stage the fight.

In the midst of a sequel being coordinated, the IBF stripped Crawford of his title earlier this month and elevated undefeated upstart Jaron Ennis as its champion.

The 36-year-old Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) wants to maximize his earning power and potential, and he doesn’t see a future pitting with Ennis properly padding his purse.

“Listen, like I said. Jaron is in one place, and I’m in another. I’m looking for mega fights right now, and right now, that’s not a mega fight,” Crawford told a group of reporters Friday. “That’s my standpoint on it. I’m looking to fight guys like Canelo Alvarez. That’s pretty much it, man, and a rematch with Spence, and that’s it. That’s over with for me.”

Crawford has remained adamant that he would climb up to 168 pounds for the chance to clash with Alvarez.

“Man, that would be lovely. That would definitely be lovely,” said Crawford.

Crawford also commented on perhaps facing unified 154-pound Jermall Charlo, the former undisputed champion who no longer has two of the four titles he once owned due to sanctioning body semantics

Crawford was originally enticed to face Charlo for the opportunity to become a three-division undisputed champion.

“Charlo isn’t a mega-fight. His last performance [against Alvarez] wasn’t a great performance,” said Crawford.
