It is all haywire regarding the middleweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA). The super champion of the WBA is currently Felix Sturm, the interim world champion is Gennady Golovkin (WBA#1) from Kazakhstan. But instead of Sturm vs. Golovkin being ordered, it is now the #3 ranked contender vs. the #4 of the WBA for the vacant "regular" title.

As per the Ukrainian boxer Avtandil Khursindze (WBA#4), his team is currently in negotiations with Hassan N'Dam N'Jkam Cam (WBA#2) for a possible world title fight according to the rules of the World Boxing Association (vacant). However, when reading the WBA rules it says that this fight has to be offered to the interim world champion Gennady Golovkin first.

FIGOsport has already asked Golovkin's manager for a statement. In the event that Golovkin as being ranked at #1 is ignored, his team will ask the ABC commission for clarification on the situation. The ABC commission is supervising the world boxing federations.
