Antonio Tarver isn’t shy about his goals for himself as a heavyweight.

After campaigning as a light heavyweight champion, Tarver has moved to heavyweight where his aim is to break George Foreman’s record as the oldest heavyweight ever. Tarver is 46 and hopes to get a shot at Wladimir Klitschko next year while Foreman was 45 when he stopped Michael Moorer.

“What I look at is the big picture,” Tarver said. “It’s for the heavyweight championship of the world. It’s for me to do something that no other man has done. And that’s be the oldest man to capture the title at heavyweight, breaking and surpassing the great George Foreman. That’s the only thing I can think of why I’m still here and why I’m still fighting at this level.”

Tarver wasn’t finished.

“A lot of guys are just fighters, but I think I’m so much more than just a fighter,” said Tarver, “I’m an entertainer and hopefully people really can latch onto this story because I really believe it’s the biggest story in boxing today: A guy with my history at 46 years old, going for the most coveted title in sports. I mean, (expletive), they jumped on it when George Foreman was doing it. I’m living a dream right now and I’m chasing destiny.”
