Sunny Edwards returned from injury with a routine win.

The 23-year-old Croydon talent retained his WBO European title at the SSE Arena in Wembley, London.

Edwards, who capped off 2018 with two great wins against Junior Granados and Ryan Farrag, took on Portugal's Pedro Matos, exclusively live on BT Sport, as part of the supporting cast to Daniel Dubois' heavyweight clash against Richard Lartey.

'Showtime' nearly dropped his man in the seventh round, but Matos was saved from further punishment by referee Phil Edwards just seconds into the eighth to award Sunny another victory.

The end came at 23 seconds of round eight and Matos suffered his second defeat in the paid code, while Edwards moves on to 11-0 with four quick.

And Lerrone Richards picked up the vacant WBO International and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles with a routine victory over former British champion Tommy Langford.

The Alan Smith-trained man, nicknamed 'Sniper The Boss', was dominant against former interim WBO world title challenger Langford and it was scored 118-110, 116-113 and 118-111 in favour of Richards, who is now 12-0 with three quick.

Langford, meanwhile, suffered the third defeat in his last four outings and slipped to 21-4 (6 KOs).
