At the Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton Le Spring today, 22nd July, Darlington’s Stuart Hall weighed in at 8st 4lbs, scotching any rumours that getting his big frame down to the bantamweight limit is a problem for him.  British champion Hall looked confident throughout and exchanged banter with his title challenger, Martin Power, during their head to head.

Former champion Power was the shorter man but came in heavier at 8st 5½lbs.  Martin, from Canning Town, will be hoping for a different result tomorrow night from the last time he faced Hall when he was stopped in the last of an eight round contest on the 11th of September 2009.

Both Nigel Wright and Dean Harrison weighed in at 9st 13½lbs ahead of their English light welterweight title fight.  Durham’s Wright looked focused and business-like during the stare down for the cameras, before shaking hands and giving Wolverhampton’s Harrison a wink as both fighters returned to their respective camps.

Also on the scales were Tony Jeffries and Michael Banbula.  Jeffries weighed in first at 12st 6½lbs before, after arriving late; Banbula’s weight was announced as 12st 7½lbs.  The rest of the fighters on the show’s undercard will weigh in tomorrow at the same venue at 4.30pm.
