NEWARK, N.J. – Joseph Adorno wasted little time in scoring another knockout Saturday night.

The unbeaten lightweight from Allentown, Pennsylvania, knocked down the Dominican Republic’s Adrian Ramirez twice in the second round and stopped him less than halfway into it. Referee Sparkle Lee stopped the action at 1:12 of the second round on the Shakur Stevenson-Alberto Guevara undercard at Prudential Center.

Adorno dropped Ramirez the first time with a short left hook 22 seconds into the second round. Ramirez made it to his feet, but he didn’t last much longer.

The 22-year-old Adorno (13-0, 11 KOs) wobbled Ramirez with another left hook shortly after the action resumed. He landed two more right hands as Ramirez was falling to the canvas.

Lee immediately waved an end to the scheduled eight-rounder once Ramirez hit the canvas again.

The 35-year-old Ramirez (10-4, 6 KOs) has lost three straight fights.

Following Adorno’s win, Indian super middleweight prospect Vijender Singh stopped Mike Snider at 1:23 of the fourth round in a scheduled eight-rounder.

Referee Shada Murdaugh stepped between Singh and Snider to stop their fight once Singh landed several unanswered power punches. Snider (13-6-3, 8 KOs), of Flemington, West Virginia, was still standing when the fight was stopped. He wasn’t previously knocked down during the fight, either.

Singh (11-0, 8 KOs) also hurt Snider with a few seconds remaining in the second round, when his right hand knocked Snider backward, into the ropes.

In the third fight Saturday night, junior welterweight John Bauza remained unbeaten thanks to an eight-round, unanimous-decision win over Angel Sarinana.

Bauza (13-0, 5 KOs), 21-year-old southpaw from North Bergen, New Jersey, won all eight rounds on each of the three scorecards (80-72, 80-72, 80-72). Bauza was busier and better throughout their bout, but he couldn’t hurt Mexico’s Sarinana (10-9-2, 4 KOs), who waved Bauza forward several times.
