Rugged welterweight contender Jesus Soto Karass is scheduled to return to the ring on June 21st against former two-division champion Devon Alexander at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. The fight will be part of a triple header broadcast by Showtime.

The Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico native said that he's having a good camp and that he is already close to making weight.

"I am having a great camp. We have some lefties in camp to imitate Alexander's style. I an already down to 156, 157 pounds," Soto Karass revealed.

Both fighters last appeared in the ring in December and are looking to bounce back from losses. Alexander lost his IBF welterweight title to Shawn Porter and had trouble dealing with the pressure that Porter applied.

Soto Karass took notice and said that he not only plans to use his trademark pressure style, but that he will also incorporate the head movement and boxing style that he has used in his most recent fights.

"He doesn't like pressure. We want to pressure him but we will box him too," said Soto Karass who feels a win will put him back in the mix for a title shot.  "A win is huge. It puts me in position for a title shot."

Soto Karass resides in the Los Angeles area and is happy that the fight is taking place in his backyard. He said that the fans can expect the same exciting style that he brings to all of his fights.

"I'm happy to be in this type of fight in front of my fans. The fans will get what they always get from Jesus Soto Karass and that is me applying pressure and also boxing as well," Soto Karass stated.

In the lead up to his upset knockout win over Andre Berto last year, Soto Karass and Berto had a heated exchange at the StubHub Center. The two fighters jawed at each other in the crowd and some of the pro Soto Karass fans threw beers at Berto.

Soto Karass admitted that the crowd's reaction lit his fire against Berto but he has been laid back in the lead up to the Alexander fight. He said that he has nothing but respect for the St. Louis native.

He did however say that all of that goes out the window when they enter the ring.

"The crowd really fired me up (when he and Berto went at it). I have nothing against Devon Alexander. I respect him but when we get in the ring I'm going to f*** him up (pero cuando estamos en el ring - a partirle su madre)," Soto Karass told BoxingScene.com.
