Floyd Mayweather should be enjoying his retirement but if his twitter account is anything to go by there are some things that the multimillionaire boxer simply can't let go of. He recently tweeted out a photo of a $100mn cheque, somewhat bizarrely suggesting that it proved he was literate:

Some say there’s a difference between being smart and intelligent. Everyone knows that common sense isn’t so common, but when it comes to being wise beyond years it’s proven I’ve got the Midas touch. It’s simple math, being 50-0 lets you know I READ — Floyd Mayweather (@FloydMayweather) January 26, 2018

So given that Mayweather is clearly still sensitive about certain subjects he might be upset to hear that it is rapidly becoming a matter of when, not if, a fighter from Thailand surpasses the historic 50-0 mark he reached by beating an Irish debutant called Conor McGregor.

WBC 105lbs champion Wanheng Meenayotin is currently on 49-0 and fought five times last year but he's not the only Thai approaching the magical 50 mark.

PetchSorChitpattana is still only 24 but already possesses an impressive sounding 45-0 professional record.

Currently fighting under the name Petch CPFreshmart, he competes in the 122lbs division and recently scored the 45th straight win of his professional career at the expense of a winless Vietnamese opponent.  The stellar sounding record consists entirely of fights that have taken place in Thai territory.

The 24 year old has never challenged for a world title and three of his last five opponents were making their pro debuts.

However, he is currently ranked number three in the WBC’s bantamweight rankings and it will be interesting to see whether Petch is handed a world title shot before reaching Mayweather’s 50-0 milestone.
