I've made it clear on this website that I would take the fight against [WBO middleweight champion' Dmitry Pirog [on March 26 in Russian]. I've also stated over and over again that all Pirog's people need to do is contact [Smith's promoter] Lou DiBella and make an offer and I will be on the first plane smoking out of Vegas.

Now there is a lot of back and forth and I have no idea what is going on. First, I've been contacted on Facebook repeatedly by someone supposedly working with Pirog. I've instructed him to contact Lou or the DBE offices. Secondly, Pirog has two promoters, one in the states, and one overseas, which furthermore is complicating matters.

This person on Facebook told me today that the WBO didnt approve me. Now I find that odd that within a day he already got a answer from the WBO. I was ranked number 13 at middleweight after the fight with Danny Jacobs in 2009. I have always respected the WBO and if that is coming from them then I have no problem accepting that, but I would rather get the information from DBE or my advisor Ray Campbell than to have someone on Facebook tell me.

Last but not least, it seems Pirog has become Americanized, ducking and dodging opponents, and only looking for a big fight. I thought the overseas guys had the balls, but I guess I was wrong. I am also starting to see this same trend with a lot of fighters overseas. I don't think Pirog or his people really wanted the fight, too much jocking going on and not enough movement. Hopefully I get the chance to show the world he is just a one hit wonder.
