"Showtime" Shawn Porter (26-2-1) and his father Kenny were at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino Friday night to observe Ishe Smith's decision victory over Frank Galarza.

Porter is looking to bounce back from his June 25th decision loss to Keith Thurman that is considered one of the top of the year. The fight, which aired on CBS, drew one of the highest ratings of the year.

Shortly after the loss, Kenny said that they wanted to get in the ring as soon as possible. He reiterated that they want to return before the year is over.

"We are ready to fight anybody.  Just right now nobody has answered the call. We hope that we can get something by November. We don't want this year to get away from us. We want to get something by November," he explained.

Shawn still feels that he did enough to have gotten the victory against Thurman but sees room for improvement in a rematch.

What would he do differently?

"Hands up. How about that? Better defense from me. I definitely want to continue to try to get sharper. That was really the only loophole I saw in that fight. My hands were a little loose a few times. I got caught clean a few times in a few rounds and that may have swayed the judge's opinion in those rounds. For the most part I outworked him and out hustled him every round. We definitely want that rematch anytime, anyplace," Shawn told BoxingScene.com.
