Promoter Gary Shaw is desperately looking for a fight for his middleweight client, Tureano Johnson, who last fought on January 9th, when he stopped Alex Theran in five rounds at the Theater of Madison Square Garden in New York.

Shaw would love to match Johnson with IBO/WBA champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, and was shocked to read statements that GGG was open to the idea of facing Oscar De La Hoya, who at 42-years-old (and retired since 2008) is considering the possibility of a comeback.

"I'd like to fight anybody with Tureano. I'd like to fight (Gennady) Golovkin, I'd like Showtime's 160-pound champion (Daniel Jacobs), any of the 160-pound title fights,"Shaw stated to BoxingScene.com on Tuesday afternoon.

"I don't know why Golovkin is ducking him. He says he doesn't duck anyone but out searching and I mean, talking about (Oscar) De La Hoya?  They need a hearse for that fight not an EMT. I don't get it, if you're a serious fighter then fight other serious fights."

Golovkin last fought on May 16th at the Forum against Willie Monroe Jr. It was an assignment that Shaw thought he had in the fold for his man.

"I had a contract, I was beyond thinking I was going to get it and then suddenly they pull the contract. All the terms were done and they said he wanted to fight a southpaw and obviously judging from the fight it was not a wise decision," said Shaw, who is also pushing the WBC for an elimination bout between Johnson - who is ranked second by the organization - and the top ranked Jorge Sebastian Heiland for the right to eventually face Miguel Cotto or whoever will eventually hold that title.

"They told me to wait after the June 6th fight with Cotto( and Daniel Geale), which I did and I sent the WBC a letter today asking them to mandate the mandatory."
