Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. was shaking his head at last Saturday's outcome in the welterweight contest between Terence Crawford and Amir Khan.

Before a crowd of over 14,000 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Crawford retained his WBO welterweight title with a sixth round stoppage of Khan.

During the sixth, Khan was hit with a low blow and instead of taking a full five minutes to recover from the punch - he indicated to his corner that he was in too much pain to continue.

Khan has lashed out at critics who claim that he quit in the ring.

Jones agrees with the critics, sating that there was no question that Khan quit.

"Yes he quit, yes Amir Khan quit. I love Amir, I love him for his heart. He did a lot of things in the amateurs that I was excited about, I think he's a great fighter, but when you quit nobody gets a pass," Jones explained to TMZ.

"That's why you never quit in boxing. When I go in the ring. Carry me out. I don't wanna go out on my feet if I lost. Carry me out. I rather give it all, or get it all taken away from me. I'm not having it, losing a fight standing on my two feet, just not happy with that. A foul would never stop me from fighting, unless it's something that breaks my orbital bone or affects me for the rest of my life. A low blow will not affect me for the rest of my life."

Jones sent a message to Khan and asked him to apologize to the fans.

"Amir, I love you as a fighter. I respect you since you were an amateur fighter. You went up two weight classes, took on Canelo. You did a lot of beautiful things to show that you have courage," Jones said.

"This time you were in a no-win situation, and you refused to continue. You stopped at a time we know you could've given more. You didn't give it to us, the fans, your all. You have to apologize. We respect that. Be a man. Be honest for what you did, and move forward."
