Nicaragua's Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez has started training for his next fight and says he will defend his 112-pound World Boxing Council (WBC) flyweight crown against Mexico's Giovanni Segura on March 5 in Los Angeles California.

Gonzalez (44-0, 38 KOs) has had to walk a long way since 2011, when Segura was the flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and challenged 'Chocolatito' to unify their titles at 108 pounds, but no agreement was reached.

"On March 5 I'm going to face Giovanny Segura In his previous comments he said that he could beat me, but that's a added motivation to make a great fight. It also encourages me to knock him out quicker,"  confessed Roman, who will earn more than $ 250.000 in this clash.

Segura boast an impressive record of 32 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and 28 knockouts, and is 33 years old. But Roman will not be overconfident and takes every opponent serious.

"All my opponents are a threat because they have gloves and two hands in the ring. There is no small opponent, they are all good and I can not be overconfident against any of them," said Gonzalez.

"For this fight will do my camp in Costa Rica. In February I'll be training at the same gym where I prepared to face Brian Viloria and a week before the fight I'll travel to Los Angeles.

Beyond Segura, Roman announced that he wants to face WCB super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras (34-0-1, 26KOs). A victory would make Gonzalez a four division word champion. Both fighters are handled by promoter Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions.

"After that defense, I want to face Mexico's Carlos Cuadras for a fourth title, the WBC's 115-pound belt, in September in Las Vegas. Winning will keep me [as champion] in both divisions 112 and 115, because both are under the WBC. Mr. Akihiko Honda has asked the WBC for permission to [compete] in the two divisions and Peter Nelson, president of HBO [Sports], also asked [about a move in weight]," Gonzalez said.
