After his comfortable victory with a third round knockout over Mexican contender Valentín León on February 28, former three division world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (42-0, 36 KOs) is preparing for his next fight scheduled for May, in the United States, where he will make the second defense of the World Boxing Council (WBC) flyweight crown.

The fight is slated to be against the winner of the WBC final eliminator between Edgar Sosa (51-8, 30 KOs) and Nawaphon Por Chokchai (26-0, 19 KOs), but there is still no date for that fight.

"The question I have is who will be my opponent. There is still no fight between Sosa and the Thai (Nawaphon). That [fight has not] been set and I do not know what will happen if the clock continues to run and we get closer to the date for my second defense," said Gonzalez.

"Until we determine who will be the next opponent, I'm working hard in the gym. I maintain a strict diet and want to stay at a stable weight. I'm about 125 pounds and I do not want to overdo it. I really feel good in all aspects and by May I will be in at a high level.

"Chocolatito" said he will travel to the United States on the last week of April to complete his training.

"The idea is to train two or three weeks there (USA) and get acclimated. I've already decided that most likely we'll go in late April," admitted Gonzalez.

"I know Edgar and is a great fighter. I would face him, I know that is not in my hands, but it would be a nice fight. Either way it does not matter if it is Sosa or the Thai - both would suffer the same fate."
