SAN JACINTO MALL, BAYTOWN, TX - Former Olympic Silver Medalist and newly crowned WBC Silver Featherweight Champion Rocky Juarez was invited as a special guest to sign memorabilia, pose with fans, and answer questions about his upcoming plans. The event was hosted by HTX Fan, a Houston, Texas based sports collectibles shop.

Juarez gained his new title by defeating Rene Alvarado of Nicaragua on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014 in Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas in front of thousands of military personnel and adoring fans. He is eyeing at a shot at Jhonny Gonzalez who holds the WBC title.

“I hear that Golden Boy is planning to give Jhonny a fight in Texas in September and my team is doing the work to get me that fight”, answers Rocky when asked what his next move is. “I know Jhonny and his team wants it, Texas wants it and Mexico wants it. Let’s get a deal done and make it happen.”

Rocky was joined by fellow Olympic boxer Marlen Esparza and also by former Houston Oiler wide receivers Curtis Duncan and Ernest Givins. The champ was seen giving boxing lessons to the former Oiler legends and Givins is said to have promised a dance lesson to teach Rocky the ‘Electric Glide’.
