Panama - After a couple of hours of additional suffering on the scale, Panama's Luis "Nica" Concepcion made the required weight (115 pounds) for his title fight this Thursday, December 17, against Mexico's Hernan Tyson Marquez, who was one pound over.

The fight is the headline bout of a card being organized as part of the KO Drugs event being staged by the World Boxing Association (WBA) at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City.

Nica Concepción (29 years) is the WBA's interim flyweight champion.

When they first weighed in, both fighters were over the limit. Concepcion was 116 and ¼, while Marquez was 118 and ¼. Both fighters took two hours to squeeze down. If Marquez wins the fight, the belt would become vacant.

This is the third bout between the two fighters. Marquez won both of their previous meetings, both by knockout. Concepcion  has a record of 33-4, 24 won by KO and Marquez comes in at 39-6-1, 28 KOs.

Marquez came in on late notice after original opponent Giovani Segura withdrew to purse a fight with WBC champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez.

In a special attraction, former three division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley will take on Venezuelan Patrick "El Elegante" Lopez in a twelve round bout. Mosley weighed in at 148.5-pounds and Lopez was 146.25.
