Arena, Mexico City, Mexico - In a battle for the vacant WBC super bantamweight title, Victor Terrazas (37-2-1, 21KOs) got drilled hard in the twelfth and final round, but held on to win a very close twelve round split decision over countryman and former champion Cristian Mijares (47-7-2, 22KOs). The scores were 114-113 Mijares, 114-113 Terrazas and 115-112 Terrazas.

Former two division world champion Juan Manuel Lopez (33-2, 30KOs) knocked out late replacement Eugenio Lopez (31-25-1, 25KOs) in the second round of a fight held at the super featherweight limit. A left uppercut followed by a right hook put Lopez away in the second.

Mexican middleweight sensation Gilberto Zurdo Ramirez (25-0, 20KOs) made short work of Colombian Juan de Angel Monterrosa (9-3-1, 9KOs) with a knockout in two minutes of the third round.
