The "regular" world bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Englishman Jamie McDonnell, will defend his crown for the seventh time, when he faces two-time world champion (WBC 108 and WBO 115)  Naoya Inoue of Japan, in the main event on Friday in Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

The fight is organized by Ohashi Promotions and will be broadcast by Japanese TV.

Both fighters exceeded rigorous medical examinations and were in excellent physical condition.

McDonnell is no stranger to fighting away from home and this Friday he will become the first British fighter to defend a world title in Japan.

But he's a huge underdog against Inoue - who is a born puncher with scary speed and accuracy, and aims to win the fight by knockout.

"I am prepared mentally and physically for McDonnell," Inoue said to Notifight. "We are also prepared to face a taller opponent. He is a very good fighter, we know his quality and we are ready to bring it."
