LOS ANGELES, California - Mexico's Miguel "Puppet" Vazquez will defend his IBF world lightweight championship on Oct. 27 against Tijuana's Marvin Quintero at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

Vazquez (31-3, 13 KO's) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico will be making the fourth defense of his International Boxing Federation (IBF) championship against Quintero (25-3, 21 KOs) in an HBO televised fight.

Vazquez is preparing at the Azteca Gym in Los Angeles, California.

 

"I'm working hard for this fight. I know that I have to be at my best to win this fight and prove I'm the best lightweight in the world," said the native of Guadalajara.

 

"I feel like I'm having the best time of my career and I will demonstrate that on the 27th of October."
