Cuba's Erislandy Lara, 15-1-1 (10 KO’s), went right back to camp on Monday morning, as he prepares for his upcoming junior middleweight fight against Ronald Hearns 26-2-0 (20 KO's) on April 20th in Biloxi, Mississippi. Team Lara is working with coach Ronnie Shields at the Savannah Gym in Houston TX.

Ronnie Shields said “We are focused on the next fight. Lara is working with the same enthusiasm that he showed for the fight against Paul Williams and we are working in a similar manner to fight Ronald Hearns.”

Edward Jackson, the strength and conditioning coach said - “We have been working together for some time and we already know what we have to do. Our communication is excellent, Lara is a very disciplined athlete and he participates in our the conditioning sessions with great dedication”

For his part, Lara said - “the work in the gym is strong and it requires all of my dedication and effort, Ronnie demands more of me every day in our trainings and we know that it’s the only way of reaching my goals. The gym is the place where we win our fights. We know that Hearns will come in the best shape possible and this will be a big fight in which I will give my biggest effort to defeat him."

“This fight is very important. Every fight has value and we do not stop improving because of that. Because we realize that our conditioning is based on the training sessions."
