HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO- World contenders McWilliams and McJoe Arroyo and Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez will return to the ring in important fights to be held at the new Humacao Arena in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on December 7, in a new edition of the series Noche de Campeones DIRECTV presented by PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with ALA Boxing Promotions to be broadcast on DIRECTV Pay Per View.

All three boxers are going to fight in title and eliminatory bouts as a prelude for world title bouts in the first half of 2014.

“We will have a great show on December 7, with competitive fights against good rivals for McWilliams Arroyo, McJoe Arroyo and Chelo Gonzalez and in a new venue like the Humacao Arena”, said promoter Ivan Rivera, PRBBP president about the new place located in the east zone of Puerto Rico.

Headlining the card, the 2009 Amateur World Champion and 2008 Olympian,  McWilliams Arroyo (14-1, 12 KOs), will face world contender Rocky Fuentes (35-6-2, 20 KOs), from Philippines, in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) eliminatory flyweight fight for the #1 ranking spot. McWilliams Arroyo, who came off a fourth round KO victory over Miguel Tamayo in February, is ranked #7 by the IBF, #10 by the World Boxing Association (WBA) and #11 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) in the flyweights, while Fuentes, who also is going to fight for the second time this year, is ranked #2 by the WBA, #3 by the World Boxing Council (WBC), #5 by the IBF and # 6 by the WBO in the 112 pounds division. This fight is scheduled to 12 rounds.

In one of the coestelar fights, McWilliams twin brother, McJoe Arroyo (13-0, 7 KOs), also a 2008 Olympian and a 2007 Amateur World Championship bronze medalist, will fight in another IBF eliminatory bout for the #2 place in the superflyweight rankings, when he faces unbeaten Dominican Eliezer Aquino (15-0-1, 9 KOs), who is ranked #9 by the IBF in the 115 pounds. McJoe Arroyo is ranked #7 by the IBF, #8 by the WBA and #11 by the WBO in the superflyweights. For McJoe Arroyo this will be his third fight in 2013 when he beat Felipe Rivas by TKO in February and Jairo Hernandez by unanimous decision in April. Aquino had four wins in 2013, three by KO and one by decision.

 The other coestelar bout will present lightweight contender Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez (22-1, 17 KOs) in his first fight since his world title defeat against Ricky Burns in May when the Puerto Rican retired at the beginning of the 10th round with a wrist injury. Gonzalez will face Philipine Mark Acub (13-0, 10 KOs) for an IBF regional title in a fight scheduled to 10 rounds. For Gonzalez this will be his third fight of the year.
