McCaskill prevented Braekhus from making history by breaking the consecutive defense record of heavyweight legend Joe Louis, who has a streak of 25 wins as champion.

McCaskill was very game and had solid moments of success in the bout. Braekhus was the much bigger fighter and was able to take the hard shots that McCaskill would connect with. McCaskill had the edge in the first half, with Braekhus getting the edge in the second half.
